Over the Easter period one of our new volunteers Olivia Wike spent three days dressed as an inflatable chicken fundraising for the Gloucestershire branch. See how she got on below:

“Over Easter I did some fundraising through work at One To One Recruitment for Motor Neurone Disease which is a charity very close to my heart. My wonderful Grandfather Christopher George Howard, passed away from MND just over a year ago and it has been such an honour to fundraise for the local Cheltenham & Gloucester branch.

I dressed up as an inflatable chicken and loved every second of it. I hope it gave all that saw me a good giggle! A huge thank you to my employer One To One Recruitment who funded my costume, the big cuddly bear prize and chocolate eggs! Without your support none of this would have been possible.

It gives me such joy to announce that our customers and local businesses have raised a total of £750! In addition, our incredible client Brunsdon’s Group completed their April Draw and MNDA Gloucestershire were one of the three names that were drawn! They will be donating an amazing £1,000 on top of our fundraising total!

Thank you so much to all the businesses that supported our event. Without your kind donations we would not have achieved such a fantastic amount of money.”

At our A.G.M. on the 18th April, we had an incredibly informative talk from the wonderful Professor Martin Turner. With a great turnout, including an inflatable chicken!

Wheelchair Alliance charter and campaign. Thanks for all the support given in to the charter. The next step is to try and get wheelchair services into the new NHS Mandate. To do this we need to respond to the public consultation which is currently open until Nov 23rd. PLEASE help by submitting your response. This can be done via the Wheelchair Alliance website, which will tell you more about it and  show you what you can do.

Help us make a difference to people with MND right across the country!
